BIRDWATCHER FOR A DAY
1- Knowing Birds at Cantareira Stative Park-SP
In October, 7th, the Environmental Program: The Last Noah's Ark have promoted with APAMAGIS sports department a walk and avifauna observation at Cantareira Stative Park, São Paulo, Nucleo Pedra Grande. The "ornithological trip" was a success, because besides providing all age people interaction, there were observed from 9:45 to 12:30, 42 brids species. There were seen also two Bugios families (Alouatta fusca), big monkeys live at the reserve and that are threatened of extinction. Another destak on the trekking was the seeing of São Paulo City on Pedre Grande top, where the birdwatchers could have the opportunity of comparing the two distinct crapers: tropical forest and the visual pollution in the city in distance, being a reflection moment for everybody.
The group was formed by 29 people and guided by the Judge and Birdwatcher Antonio Silveira. The participants could know a little bit about the recreative activity that birding is, and which is practiced by bout 80 million people around the world. Also in the opportunity, the group have found two American birwatchers who were with a Brazilian guide, when there were a quickly technical interaction between the groups.
Important detail is that the observations in this walk will be contacted to Birdlife International, for the World Birds Count, supported in international character by this entity.
