Introduction

    Brazil is the country where there is a big number of primates, being registered around 79 forms (among species and subspecies), and a lot of them are endemic.
The destruction of equatorial and tropical forests, as the agriculture advance and the demographic explosion of the Brazilian cities (we are the 5th country in population) has been being the biggest extermination factors of the Brazilian primates. So the importance of knowing the species that happens here, for divulgation of environmental education programs for the preservation of these animals.
The popular names vary a lot from region to region, being difficult putting all of them, so we have chosen the most known name of the specie for showing in this page.
