ECOLOGICAL TRIPS

Núcleo Curucutu of Parque Estadual Serra do Mar and Parque Estadual Carlos Botelho - SP

    In March 16th 2001 we had been (Antônio Silveira and Rafael) in the núcleo Curucutu of Parque Estadual Serra do Mar (S 23º 59’ 06" WO 46º 44’ 36") and in Parque Estadual Carlos Botelho (S 24º 03’ 20" WO 47º 59’ 35") for aerial recognizing of the area (Squirrel Helicopter) and some aerial photos and images, for helping in the studies of the raising of local avifauna, specially for birdwatchers use. These studies are being already being realized by Antônio Silveira (he has already started in Carlos Botelho)..
The high camps of núcleo Curucutu have called our attention, by its beauty and rarity.
We had seen much vegetation degradation near the borders of the parks and also people living in the protected area.
The records and photos are excellent elements for studies, as the observation of the area provides a good vision of the preservation aspect, collaborating to a better conclusion of the local avifauna
